Driving Instructor Training

To become a driving instructor you need to be at least 21 and have held a full UK driving licence for 3 years. Driving instruction is a rewarding career and I can offer training to help you to qualify as an instructor.

There are three exams that you need to pass. These are called Part One, Part Two and Part Three.

Part One - test of your knowledge. Similar to the driving theory test, but consisting of 100 multiple choice questions. The questions are not just the standard driving theory test questions. There is also a hazard perception test with a higher pass mark than the learner driver test.

Part Two - test of your driving ability. This test requires you to achieve a standard of driving far higher than for the normal driving test. The test lasts for one hour.

Part Three - test of your instructional ability. This tests you ability to give instruction. The one hour test involves you giving instruction to an examiner who is playing the role of a learne driver.
